On Friday, 29 August, Cape Pulpit hosted a vibrant Business Breakfast at Koffi Terrapi in Willowbridge Shopping Centre, marking the close of Women’s Month with a message of empowerment. Under the theme “Walk in Your Groove,” the event created a space of worship, inspiration, and networking designed to remind attendees that success is not about comparison, but about confidently embracing one’s unique, God-given path.

Setting the Tone

The beautifully decorated venue, styled in elegant black with accents of orange, mirrored the confidence and vibrancy of the women in attendance. The morning opened with live worship led by Warren Eliot and Adams Watkins, filling the room with reverence. Radio Cape Pulpit Station Manager Musa Jakuja followed with an opening prayer, asking for divine blessing and setting the intention for a gathering rooted in unity and purpose.

Messages of Empowerment

Guest speaker Ency Letsoane brought humour and heart to her address. Joking that she had hoped for “just the girls” to encourage real conversation, she reminded attendees that outward success can mask inner struggles. Drawing on scripture, she urged women to return to God’s Word when life feels unsettled: “When you understand your groove, you don’t get stressed.”

The second speaker, Jacky de Lange, shared a personal story from her work in media and tourism. When a last-minute cruise cancellation disrupted plans for a group of 40, she found herself overwhelmed. Yet through the experience, she learned resilience: setbacks are unavoidable, but they can shape strength and deepen faith. “We constantly have to duck and dive, not die. It’s not an easy run,” she reminded the audience.

Building Connections

In an engaging session, MC Brad Kirsten passed the microphone around the room, giving attendees the chance to introduce themselves and their businesses. This interactive moment not only broke the ice but also sparked practical opportunities for collaboration and partnership — a true reflection of the morning’s theme of walking together.

Afterward, guests enjoyed a hearty breakfast while continuing conversations, exchanging ideas, and building connections in a supportive and uplifting environment.

Closing in Strength

The morning concluded with a vote of thanks from Musa Jakuja, who left the audience with a powerful modern rendering of Isaiah 58:12:

“You’ll use the old rubble of past lives to build anew, rebuild the foundations from out of your past. You’ll be known as those who can fix anything, restore old ruins, rebuild and renovate, make the community livable again.”

Her words tied together the theme of the day: walking in your groove is not just about individual purpose, but about using your gifts to strengthen and rebuild the wider community.

The Cape Pulpit Business Breakfast was more than a networking event. It was a celebration of resilience, faith, and unity — a reminder that when women walk boldly in their God-given lanes, they not only find fulfillment but also uplift those around them.
